5.5 - Beer Production

- yeast in beer production 
beer is made of : 
starch --- Amylase (germination of seed - known as 'malting') ----> Maltose ---Maltase---> Glucose 


Starch comes from: 
- Barley Seeds 
- Wheat Seeds 
- Rice (asian beers) 


Glucose comes from Starch 


Glucose --anaerobic respiration (yeast supplies enzymes for conversion) ----> ethanol + CO2 + Hops 


Hops flavors the beer (in plants)
